Iran War 3-22-2026 (AI)

First, should Trump start the Iran War? It is not an easy call. One thing is for sure. If Iran gets nuclear weapons, the regime is almost certain to use them. Iran is the number 1 nation to support terrorism. It is hard to argue that Iran will not use it. One diplomat who participated in talks with North Korea regretted relying too much on negotiations. As a result, North Korea has obtained nuclear weapons. If the US was more resolute, North Korea might not be able to obtain nuclear weapons. As bad as NK, Iran with nuclear weapons is much worse. First, Iran is much more likely to use the weapon than any other nation. Iranian rulers are Islamic fanatics, and nothing will prevent them from using nuclear bombs. To them, killing infidels will get reward from Allah and nothing will surpass that. Second, if Iran obtains nuclear bombs, many other Middle Eastern nations will also try to get them. This will make the Middle East very dangerous. 

So far, the war on the military front is progressing well, better than expected. However, the next few weeks are crucial. 20% of the world’s crude oil passes the Strait of Hormuz. The Strait is narrow. The Iranian regime seems determined to stop the commercial traffic. Trump asked US allies to help keep the Strait open, but they refused. In fact, the US has very little need directly from the Strait (3% or so). However, since commodity prices are determined on the world market, the US gas price and inflation will be affected. These are likely to kill Trump midterm election chances.
