Solution: Controlled Globalization

We have identified two problems facing American politics in 2016 [1]. Identifying problems is only the first step. The next step is to find solutions. Fortunately, one simple solution is easy to find. For globalization, one can slow down the pace of globalization and at the same time improve education, especially on employable skills. If globalization is slowed to a rate that does not reduce blue-collar worker’s jobs too fast, then the problem is solved.

The second problem concerns culture and national identity [1,2]. Recently, Douglas Murray has called attention to the European immigration problem [3]. Several authors noted that efforts should emphasize integration and education, not just immigration. Patriotic education should be carried out in a variety of channels. Again, slowing down the pace of immigration may help integration.

Unfortunately, American political elites did not recognize the root cause. As an example, during the 2016 US presidential election campaign, Hillary Clinton delivered the now infamous "Basket of deplorables" speech. She used that phrase to describe "half" of the supporters of her opponent, Republican nominee Donald Trump, saying, "They're racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamophobic. This caused quite a stir. When Bill Clinton promoted globalization, he promised a good economic outcome for all including workers. Many workers thought now you blame us for our suffering?

As Christians, we know that we all sin sometimes. No one is perfect. A well-known example is King David (his story is from the 2nd half of 1 Samuel to 2 Samuel 10). David is arguably the most accomplished king in history, taking into account worldly achievements and the way he achieved them — he always deferred to and obeyed God. After he had won battles, he became king. In 2 Samuel 11 David committed adultery and murder. Chapter 12 David was rebuked by prophet Nathan. David immediately repented. Why did I mention these? Every person sins sometimes. As a powerful ruler, it is easier to sin because of the power. Once a sin has been committed, one should repent and make changes or remedies. When prophet Nathan confronted David, he immediately confessed and repented. King David could have found several excuses (not difficult to find). Had David done that, he would have been severely punished by God. He even might be condemned to the HELL (recall the Ten Commandments).

Unfortunately, American political elites did not see it that way. How can they claim to be democratic when many voters are disfranchised and their voices are not heard? You do not have to adopt my above solution but need find some solution. Partisan politics can only make things worse.
