Biden-Harris Election Results (2)

This is the second installment of ‘Learning from Election.’ The first [1] explains the major differences between Western and Chinese politics. It was written mainly for Mainland Chinese but can be useful to Westerners. Today’s Western education focuses too much on technologies or career education, not enough on their roots.

After Donald Trump lost the 2020 election, it would be difficult for Trump to come back. Then, the Jan-6 riot convinced me that Trump’s political career was finished. Generally speaking, Trump did OK in his first term, in economics, domestic politics, and international relations. However, he was divisive, some understandable but some unnecessary. He also had too much ego. (Some say that he is a narcissist. Recently I saw Jordan Peterson’s short video on narcissism and in a separate video Peterson said Trump is not a narcissist. Peterson is a renowned expert so he is likely to be correct.) When Joe Biden in his inaugural speech called for unity, I was happy to see Biden became president.

The problem is that Biden is a quintessential politician. What he said was purely political speaking. When he called for unity, he perhaps asked those who voted for Trump to confess their sins and come back to him. He was known to be center-left but his policies were all far left. He once was an advocate of segregation now he is a strong supporter of civil rights leaders. For him, power is everything. This is shown clearly in [2]. Biden was supposedly a Catholic. Catholics are more strict on doctrine issues than most Protestant denominations. Usually, important doctrines have to be decided by the Vatican. When Biden changed his stand on abortion overnight, it must have been from some revelation from God. It is likely that he takes orders from his enablers: the far left, Bernie Sanders, AOC, civil rights leaders, Obama, etc. If Bernie Sanders was president, his policies would not be too much different from Biden’s. My interpretation? Biden thought that I became president because of their support. They must represent people and represent history. I should adopt their policies. Unfortunately, Kamala Harris seems to be the same since she is a career politician who never had a real-world job.

Biden’s policies led to difficulties most ordinary Americans face: inflation, illegal immigration, economy. On inflation, Biden authorized 2T+ spending on two separate bills. It would be a miracle if they did not cause inflation. Suppose that you have a fixed amount of merchandise and services. US dollars are printed and guaranteed by the US government. If you double the amount of money printed, of course their values are halved, unless all put the extra under the mattress at the same time. Some argued that the Trump Administration also had similar (but less, only 1T bill). They did not understand economics. It was a great achievement by great economist Milton Friedman to identify the cause of the Great Depression in the 1930s. The US central bank made a mistake by tightening lending standards under economic shocks. This caused wide-spread business failures, eventually the Great Depression in the 1930s. When Biden became president, the worst of the pandemic had passed and the economy was on mend. Hence there was no need for printing more money. Presumably, Biden was thinking since Trump gave them 1T I should give them as much so that they will be grateful to me. His second spending bill had some infrastructure projects but the bulk were so called Green New Deal. The Green New Deal was the far left proposal to battle climate change. From the current knowledge we have, these are wasted. Other Biden’s problems are border (illegal immigration), economy, crime. All these are caused by policies from the far left.

Good analysis on this election can be found in [3-5]. Bill O'Reilly’s analysis is suitable for laymen and most are correct. [4] is a very shorter one. The GoodFellows [5] are one of the highest qualities, as usual. On the economy, I know sure that the far left policies are wrong. My assertion is based on the Bible and philosophy. This will require many papers. I only point out [6] for a peek. In short, socialism is mostly wrong.

Once Biden made all these policy mistakes, the fate of Democrats in this election was largely sealed. On strategies, planning, and mobilization, Democrats actually did well. Otherwise, the Democrat’s loss would have been worse. Why were the polls so off? I noticed in the last few years. Left activists put pressure on all who disagree with their viewpoints. They, and the mainstream media, demonize anyone who is associated with Trump. They pressure anyone who does not 100% agree with them. Such behaviors recall those of Communists or Fascists. Many voters felt uncomfortable expressing their true opinions. Some voters do not want to be harassed. They either refuse to answer or give them vague answers. It is the ideologues, radicals, and the media who should correct their own behaviors. Then, the polls might reflect true opinions.
