This is an update. It is good that China and the US agreed to talk. According to a GS note, it is estimated that 16M in China lost their jobs due to the trade war. On the US side, Trump certainly would like to get a deal in a few months so that the Republican has a chance to hold power in next year’s midterm. If not, Trump’s last two years can do little. But it will not be easy since a deal with China could take more than a year.
